This is true. Context matters. I do find when people say “may I play devils advocate for a moment” they are perhaps more than just an advocate. However when it’s phrased as “but perhaps we should also consider the other side” then it is more in earnest.

Thanks for reading! My point on that one may not have been clear. But it was more about enjoy the life you have right now, don’t wait to enjoy it until X Y or Z happens because those things may not happen. And if you enjoy the now and then life gets better it will feel like total icing on the cake.
